Onam 2017 Date Is Monday 4th September 2017, Next Year Keralites all over the world will celebrate onam on this day. Onam is coming every year chingam (malayalam month). Onam will start from Atham Day (2017 date is 25th August 2017). During onam days there are lot of celebrations happening in kerala and other parts. during this festival season keralites remembering the king mahabali. now a days some people talking against this mith and forcing to celebrate Vamana jayanthi instead of onam. keralites will start the preparations from atham day. malayalam calendar is used to find the onam day. usually it came in august or september month (as per english calendar).

Onam is a 10 day celebration and its starts from Atham day (chingam month). Onam is usually coming in the malayalam month chingam. Atham, Chithira, Chothi, Vishakam, Anizham, Thrikketta, Moolam, Pooradam, Uthradam and Thiruvonam are the 10 days. Atham is the opening day of onam celebrations and Athachamyam is a cultue event on the day. Delicious ona sadya is the biggest highlights of Onam day. In central travancore Onam food is pure vegetarian, but in malabar area they have non veg items on onam day. Onam is celebrated by all the people of kerala and onam brings joy and happiness to all.

Making different types chips (Upperi) is another activity during the onam 2017 days. Usually banana chips are making through the occasion of Onam. Ona sadya is the main highlight of Onam day. Ona Sadya is with different type of kerala curries and Payasam. Aviyal, Thoran, Kalan, Mezhukkupuratti, Theeyal, Pachadi, Kichadi, Pulisseri, Parippu etc are some of the curries of Onam Sadya.
